Founder of Barbies

Meet The Founder

My love for animals began long before Barbie’s Pet Salon existed. Dogs, cats, rabbits, horses – if there was an animal nearby, that is where you would find me. My journey into pet artistry began with horses, where I created patterns in their coats. That passion led me to formal professional training and the opportunity to learn from respected mentors who showed me that working with an animal’s coat could be an art, not simply a service. I dreamed of creating a true beauty parlor for pets: a place that feels relaxing, safe, fun, and full of love, where each guest can enjoy a special spa day. That dream became Barbie’s Pet Salon in Santa Barbara in 2019.

The name Barbie holds a very special place in our hearts. Barbie was our beloved Miniature Schnauzer – a beautiful, girly, wonderfully bougie little soul who brought us endless joy. When we lost her, we knew her name had to live on. Naming the salon after her keeps her memory with us every day. Today, Barbie’s Pet Salon is more than a salon; it is a family. We are deeply grateful to the clients who have supported us and trusted us with their beloved companions. This salon is the dream I have carried since I was a little girl, built on a lifelong love for animals and the belief that every animal deserves to feel safe, beautifully styled, and truly loved.
